First Year Student Takes Talents to Esteemed Awards Ceremony

First year student Ashley Sutton has recently been nominated for a prestigious award in the world of dog shows. The Pawscars is an event held yearly, celebrating those that have put extensive work into various areas of Dog Showing. Ashley has received a nomination for Junior Handler of the Year, and is hoping to win at the black tie event this March.

Ashley’s talent started when he was 11 handling the family’s dogs, where he showed a natural gift and finesse in the craft – something judges look for in a winner. Over the years he has had many fantastic victories in the junior handling rings and also in the breed Conformation rings where he was handling against adults with seasoned ability. During this time, he has worked with many of the family’s dogs from puppies, being the sole person responsible for training and bonding with them. Most recently, this secured Ashley and his husky Arya Best of Breed in Crufts 2023. Ashley will also be competing in Crufts 2024 with his Akita puppy Krystal!

The Pawscars is coming up this March with Ashley being rated top amongst only 4 other nominees, and voting for the winners is now down to the public. To vote for Ashley, visit here
